10-minute Homemade Marinara Sauce Recipe

This simple 10-Minute Homemade Marinara Sauce recipe solves all your pizza, pasta, and garlic bread dipping sauce problems.  

INGREDIENTS

– 2 Tablespoons olive oil – 2 garlic cloves, minced – 1 (28-oz.) can crushed tomatoe – 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt – 1 teaspoon sugar – 1/8 teaspoon fresh black pepper – 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Low to medium heat should be used for the medium pot.  Let the olive oil warm up in the pan for one minute after adding it.   

Step 1

Add the garlic and stir it around constantly for two minutes, until it turns golden brown and smells good.  

Step 2

Mix in the crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, sugar, and (if you want) crushed red pepper flakes.   

Step 3

Allow the sauce to simmer for seven minutes, turning it every now and then. After that, add more salt, pepper, or sugar to taste.
