– 1 recipe Vegan Egg Yolk– 1 block (about 445g) medium-firm or firm tofu, drained– 1 tablespoon vegan butter– salt and pepper to taste

Add 1–2 teaspoons cornstarch for thicker Vegan Egg Yolk.

Step 1
From the side of the tofu block, cut 4–6 thin slices. Cutting the corners with a knife creates a rough tofu circle. Leave it rectangle or use a round cookie cutter.

Step 2
Melting vegan butter in a pan over medium heat. Layer tofu slices. Flip and repeat tofu frying for two minutes per side until lightly browned around the edges.

Step 3
Place cooked tofu slices on plates or serving dishes from pan. Cut a small circle in the middle of fried tofu slices with a cookie cutter, shot glass, or knife.

Step 4
Serve the slices with Vegan Egg Yolk in the holes on a plate. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve leftover dipping sauce in a small dish.
