A simple recipe for chocolate fudge that features a caramel center and pecans that have been chopped. This Turtle Fudge is sure to be a hit with everyone!
Ingredient
– 3 cups semisweet chocolate chip– 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk– 2 tablespoons butter– 1 cup chopped pecan– 30 soft caramel candies unwrapped– 3 tablespoons heavy cream
Direction
1
Cover an 8x8 baking pan with aluminum foil, leaving an overhang for easy removal. To prevent caramel from sticking, lightly butter the pan's foil sides and set aside.
2
In a large saucepan, combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Stir the mixture over medium heat until smooth. Add chopped pecans and mix well. Set aside.
3
Place caramels and heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir thoroughly after each 20-30 second microwave increment until the mixture is melted and smooth.
4
Pour half the fudge into the baking pan and smooth. Top the fudge with all the caramel and spread it evenly. Spread the remaining half of fudge evenly over the caramel.
5
Put fudge in the fridge for 3–4 hours (or overnight) to solidify before cutting into squares. Take little chunks and enjoy!
