Imagine this sweet chex mix recipe: your favorite Chex cereal, pretzels, nuts, and a chocolatey, peanut buttery coating dusted with powdered sugar. Yum!
Ingredient
– 3 cups corn Chex– 3 cups rice Chex– 3 cups chocolate Chex– 1 & ½ cups mini pretzels– 1 cup mixed nuts– 3-4 cups powdered sugar– 1/2 cup peanut butter chips– 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chipsFor the sauce:– 1 & 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips– 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter– 1/2 cup salted butter– 1 teaspoon
Introduction
Set aside the corn, rice, chocolate, pretzels, and mixed nuts in a large bowl after gently stirring. Use a medium microwave-safe bowl to make the sauce.
Step 1
Add peanut butter, chocolate chips, and salted butter. Stir every 15-30 seconds in the microwave until melted and smooth. Mix in vanilla.
Step 2
Gently stir the chocolate mixture into the Chex ingredients until coated. Add about 2 cups of Chex mix to a zip-top bag in batches.
Step 3
Add about ⅓ cup of powdered sugar. Close the bag and toss to evenly coat with powdered sugar. You may need more powdered sugar to coat it.
Step 4
Add the coated mixture to a large bowl and repeat until all Chex is coated. Your powdered sugar usage depends on how much you add to each batch.
Step 5
Finally, combine Chex Mix and peanut butter and chocolate chips. Serve immediately or keep in an airtight container.
