Tasty Spiced Apple Cider Recipe 

Cook spiced apple cider for the holidays. This drink will warm you up whether you add bourbon, whipped cream, or leave it alone.  


– 4 cups apple cider – 3 cinnamon stick – ½ teaspoon ground cardamom – ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg – ¼ teaspoon ground ginger – 1 vanilla bean Optional, for serving: – Bourbon – Whipped cream – Ground cinnamon or apple pie spice


Take a medium-sized pot and set it over medium-low heat. Add the apple cider, cinnamon sticks, cardamom, and nutmeg.   

Step 1

With the tip of a sharp knife, cut the vanilla bean in half lengthwise. Then, use the back of the knife to scrape out the seeds.   

Step 2

Put the bean pod and seeds in the pan. Once the cider starts to boil, turn down the heat and let it cook for about 15 minutes.  

Step 3

Use a fine-mesh sieve to strain the cider and get rid of the vanilla bean seeds and cinnamon sticks.   

Step 4

Place cider in four mugs that can handle heat and add one ounce of bourbon to each one, if you want to use it.   

Step 5

Add whipped cream and a little cinnamon or apple pie spice on top. Warm up and serve.
