This simple method makes candied pecans at home. They have the nicest sweet-salty flavour and crunch. For Christmas gifts or to sprinkle on salads or serve visitors, fill tiny jars.
– 1 cup white sugar (see Test Kitchen Tip below)– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon– ¼ to ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste– 1 large egg white– 1 tablespoon water– 1 pound pecan halve

Prepare the oven by preheating it to 250 degrees Fahrenheit (120 degrees Celsius).

In a small bowl, combine the various ingredients: sugar, cinnamon, and salt.

Froth egg white and water in a big dish. Pecans should be coated in egg whites. Stir in sugar mixture slowly to coat pecans. Bake on a sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes in preheated oven. Rearrange pecans into one layer. Keep stirring every 10–15 minutes until pecans are evenly toasted, 30–50 minutes more.
