After baking your cake in any pan, let it cool fully. Break it up in a big bowl. I also found a way to break the cake in a heavy-duty zip-lock bag.

Now add our favorite icing. I use store-bought white vanilla icing. Start with one heaping tablespoon of frosting, or 2 or 2 1/2 Tbsp. (35g).

Grab some cake mixture and form a ball. I measure two Tablespoons to produce a decent-sized cake ball. Roll the cake mix into a ball using your palms after kneading it.

Melt Candiquik, candy melts, almond bark, or chocolate chips/bars. I've tried all three and like melted Candiquik's consistency. Can't go wrong with candy melts. Use your favorite chocolate.

Once our homemade cake pops have firmed up it is dipping time! Melt more chocolate, I usually only do one color/flavor at a time. If you are using a more shallow bowl, tilt the bowl of chocolate, then dip your cake pop into it.

Decorating these handmade cake pops is next.  You can experiment with vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and other flavors.
