Five Spice Sesame Granola Bark Recipe

This sweet and nutty bark is half-granola, half-crispbread and makes a crispy, healthful snack or breakfast. Bake it as bark or smash it into granola—whatever you choose!

– 3/4 cup old fashioned rolled oat – 1/2 cup almond flour – 1/4 cup flaxseed meal – 3/4 cup white sesame seed – 2 teaspoons Chinese five spice – 1 teaspoon flaky salt or 1/2 teaspoon Diamond Crystal kosher salt – 1/3 cup maple syrup – 1/4 cup warm water

Set a rack in the middle of the oven and heat it up to 350°F.

Step 1

Put the flaxseed meal, oats, sesame seeds, five spice, and salt in a big bowl. Mix everything together.

Step 2

Step 3

Make the mixture as thin as you can on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Step 4

Roll the mixture with a rolling pin to half a centimetre thick or less on top of another piece of parchment paper. Remove the top parchment.

Step 5

Bake granola bark for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and firm. Break pieces after cooling completely.
