Romanian meatballs, or “Chiftele,” are a popular dish. Ground pork, shredded potatoes, and fresh herbs make these meatballs delicious.
– 1 tablespoon vegetable oil– 2 small onions – 2 cloves garlic– 2 pounds ground pork– 2 medium potatoes – 2 large egg– ½ cup breadcrumb– ½ teaspoon salt– ½ teaspoon pepper – ¼ cup parsley– ¼ cup dill

Sauté garlic and onions till soft. Grated potato should be added and cooked for a few minutes until soft.

The onion/potato mixture, ground pork, eggs, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, chopped parsley, and chopped dill should be mixed in a large bowl.

Make around 30 meatballs or patties from the mixture. For even cooking, they shouldn't be flawless but should be similar in size and shape.

Then add the meatballs and cook for 6–8 minutes, flipping occasionally, until golden on all sides. Place cooked meatballs on a paper towel-lined platter.
