Delicious Turkish Gozleme with Lamb Recipe

These handcrafted Turkish Gozleme with Lamb are loaded with ground lamb, spices, herbs, and feta cheese. A single bite won't do!

– 2¼ cup all-purpose flour – ½ teaspoon salt – ½ cup Greek yogurt – ½ cup water – 1 tablespoon olive oil – 1 small onion – 2 cloves garlic – ½ pound ground lamb – 1 tablespoon tomato paste – 1 teaspoon coriander – 1 teaspoon smoked paprika – 2 teaspoon cumin  – ½ teaspoon salt  – ¼ teaspoon pepper – 6 ounce spinach  – ½ cup fresh mint – 2 green onion – ½ cup fresh parsley

Mix flour and salt in a large bowl. Create a well and add yoghurt and water. Stir everything with a spoon until mixed.

Add a tablespoon of water at a time if the dough is dry. Knead the dough for 3 minutes on a floured board until smooth and elastic.

Wrap in plastic or a clean tea towel and lay away. Add chopped onion and garlic to olive oil in a medium skillet over medium heat.

Sauté onion and garlic for 3–4 minutes until tender and transparent. Add ground lamb to the skillet and break up with a wooden spoon.

Cook until browned, 4–5 minutes. Mix in tomato paste, coriander, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir in the spinach and simmer for 2 more minutes.

Cool meat mixture slightly. Meanwhile, divide the dough into 4 equal sections. Roll each piece into a 12x10-inch rectangle.

Put 3 tablespoons of lamb mixture in the middle of the rectangle and smooth it out. Mix in fresh mint, green onions, parsley, 1/4 cup crumbled feta, and sliced tomato.

Seal dough by folding over edges. Repeat with remaining dough. Spray a big skillet with cooking spray and heat on medium.

Add 1 or 2 gozleme to your skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crisp, depending on size.

Add cooking spray as needed. Half each gozleme diagonally and serve with olives and lemon wedges.
