Cheese Board Recipe

Build a beautiful cheese board with this simple method. Plan on a few ounces of cheese per person. I recommend 3–5 cheeses, depending on crowd size.

INGREDIENT

– Soft cheese: Goat cheese, Brie or Camembert – Semi-hard cheese: Cheddar, Gouda or Havarti – Hard cheese*: Parmesan, Manchego or Pecorino – Blue cheese: Gorgonzola, Roquefort or Stilton – Nuts: Almonds, pecans, walnuts or pistachio – Fresh or dried fruit – Honey or jam – Olives, tapenade or pepperoncini pepper – Crackers or crostini

Put cheese on the board. Before serving, let the cheese warm to room temperature for 30 minutes for best flavour. Create large blue cheese and Parmesan chunks with a fork.

Step 1

INSTRUCTION

Cut semi-hard cheese like cheddar and fan it across the board. Cut brie wedges into slices and soft round cheeses into wedges (if desired, leave cheese whole).

Step 2

Place small bowls of tapenade, olives, honey, or jam on the board. Fill large gaps with sliced fruit, then cluster crackers and nuts across the board for colour.

Step 3

Place small spoons or serving utensils in bowls and cheese knives near cheeses. Add nuts or fruit to any empty spots on your board. You can drizzle honey on soft cheese. You can now serve!
