BROWN BUTTER BANANA BREAD WITH BROWNED BUTTER FROSTING RECIPE
This flavorful brown butter banana bread will become your favourite banana bread recipe. Browned butter adds nuttiness to banana bread, and brown butter cream cheese frosting tops it off.
Put butter chunks in a light-colored pan over medium heat. The light pan colour lets you see the butter's colour change. You can make this with a dark pan, but you must watch the colour change.

Butter bubbles and crackles as it melts. Once the crackling stops, the butter browns quickly. Use a spoon to gently move any foam that forms on top of the butter to check its colour.

Browned butter has a deep golden brown colour and a delicious nutty smell! Remove from heat and place in a heatproof bowl.
4
Cut brown butter in half. This can be done by eye with two equal-sized bowls or by measuring the butter in a bowl on a scale and transferring half to another bowl. A scale is more accurate, but if you're careful, you can do it by eye.

Set one bowl aside to cool and solidify at room temperature for frosting, then make banana bread in the other.

Pre-heat oven to 350°F / 180°C and grease and parchment 9x5 loaf pan. Reserve roughly chopped pecans. Mix liquid brown butter, sugar, and light brown sugar in a large bowl. Remelt leftover brown butter in 30-second increments in the microwave. Mix everything.

Flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt should be sifted into a medium bowl. They should be well mixed before adding to the banana mixture and whisking gently. Avoid lumps in the flour mixture.
