Try 5 ingredients and your choice of milk for creamy cinnamon overnight oats. This naturally sweet, gluten-free, vegan breakfast is excellent for starting the day—no bananas needed!
INGREDIENTS
– ½ cup milk, oat, almond, regular (plain or vanilla)– ½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats, gluten-free or regular– 1 tbsp chia seeds, optional– 1 tbsp real maple syrup– 1 tsp ground cinnamon– ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
INSTRUCTIONS
Put the milk, rolled oats, chia seeds (if using), and maple syrup in a small container or glass jar that can be sealed.
Step 1
Do a good job of mixing everything with a spoon, making sure that all of the oats are covered in milk.
Step 2
Mix the vanilla extract and cinnamon into the liquid by stirring it all together.
Step 3
Put the jar or container in the fridge with the lid on to soak overnight or for at least 6 hours, up to 5 days.
Step 4
When you're ready to serve, put sliced bananas, walnuts, or any other fruit you like on top of the oats.
Step 5
For extra sweetness, you can put some maple syrup or honey over it or add some peanut butter, if you like. Enjoy cold!
