Best Big Chocolate Chunk Cookies Recipe

Large chocolate chip cookies with sea salt and melty dark chocolate are luxury cookies.  

INGREDIENTS

– 2 cups + 2 Tablespoons all purpose flour – ¾ tsp baking soda – ¾ teaspoon baking powder – 2 teaspoons cornstarch – 1 teaspoon salt – 1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) unsalted butter, melted and cooled – 1 cup brown sugar, lightly packed – 1/2 cup granulated sugar – 1 large egg – 1 large egg yolk – 2 teaspoons vanilla extract – 1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips or chunks, plus more for topping – Sea salt for finishing (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

There is flour, baking soda, baking powder, cornflour, and salt in a bowl. Mix them together with a whisk.  

Step 1

In a different bowl, beat the butter and sugars for three to four minutes, or until the mixture is smooth and lighter in colour.   

Step 2

Beat in the egg and yolk until everything is well mixed. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.  

Step 3

Mix the dry ingredients in with the sugar and butter. Beat on low speed until everything is mixed. Add the chocolate chunks and mix them in.  

Step 4

Scoop it up Put ½ cupfuls of dough on baking sheets that have parchment paper or silicone mats on them. I do NO MORE THAN 4 per half-sheet pan.  

Step 5

Put the cookies in the oven for 13 to 15 minutes, or until the edges start to turn brown but the middle is still light and gooey.   

Step 6

For extra chocolate, you can press chocolate chunks or chips into the tops of the cookies. Add sea salt.   

Step 7

Set up on the pan for 5 to 10 minutes, then move to a wire rack to cool fully.
