Best Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Recipe

The 20-minute healthy air fryer buffalo chicken breasts are juicy and crisp; use store-bought or homemade buffalo sauce with three ingredients. Easy, high-protein midweek supper and prep!  

INGREDIENTS

– 3 medium chicken breasts, skinless and bonele – ⅓ cup + 3 tbsp buffalo sauce*, e.g., Primal Kitchen, plus more for serving – ½ tsp salt – ½ tsp black pepper – Avocado or olive oil cooking spray Homemade Buffalo Sauce: – ½ cup Frank’s Red Hot Sauce – 1 Tbsp melted butter or ghee – ½ tsp paprika

INSTRUCTIONS

Lightly coat the air fryer basket with olive oil or avocado spray and preheat to 360°F. Dry the chicken breasts with a paper towel and place in a shallow basin.  

Step 1

Add ⅓ cup buffalo sauce to chicken and season with salt and pepper. For thorough coating, turn chicken breasts with kitchen tongs. Let marinade 5–10 minutes.  

Step 2

After heating the air fryer, evenly place the chicken breasts breast side down in the basket. Air fried for 10 minutes, then flip with tongs and cook for 3–5 minutes.  

Step 3

After air-frying, generously top the chicken breasts with the remaining 3 tbsp or more buffalo sauce.   

Step 4

Continue cooking for 2–3 minutes in the air fryer until the chicken reaches 165°F. Rest the chicken breasts for 5 minutes before chopping and serving. Enjoy!
