Bacon Cheddar Biscuits Recipe 

Easy bacon-Cheddar drop biscuits. This recipe tastes best with cheddar, but you can use any cheese.

– 4 slices bacon, or more to taste – 2 cups all-purpose flour – 1 tablespoon baking powder – 1 teaspoon baking soda – ½ teaspoon salt – 5 tablespoons shortening – 1 cup buttermilk – 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (230 degrees Celsius).

Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 10 minutes, stirring regularly. Remove bacon slices to paper towels. After cooling, crumble.

Cut shortening into flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a basin to make coarse crumbs. Stir buttermilk into a ball. Bacon and cheddar crumble.

Place heaping tablespoonfuls of the mixture on a baking sheet that has not been greased (this is the recommended method).
